![]() ![]() ![]() It’s better than many (most?) games on the GC but, as a Metroid fan, it’s easily my least favorite mainline one with only OG Metroid 1, OG Metroid 2 and Other M ranking lower.įirst of all the whole dark and light world is such a cliched and overused trope, especially from Nintendo, that it was eye rolling for me even in 2004. One boss in particular requires you to do so as well and as such it might be the worst boss in any metroid game ever (again I highly recommend the trilogy version since the springball helps make this better). Some of the puzzles can be pretty annoying though since they require you to precision platform, which is very difficult Prime's physics-based morphball. The game also really loves the morphball for some reason and has tons of puzzles based around it. If you're going to play it I'd highly recommend the Trilogy version since it has massively improved aiming controls and the springball. Some bosses however are pretty terribly designed or are just generally annoying to fight with the gamecube version's clunky tank controls. Combat in general is a lot more challenging in Prime 2, with regular encounters that can actually be pretty tough on your first run. ![]() The level design is generally significantly better than Prime 1 since it has way fewer "backtrack to a point across the entire world" moments than its predecessor. I put it mostly on par with the first Metroid Prime (it's better in some areas but worse in others). ![]() ![]() ![]() They’re super ugly, but they might come in handy during a freak accident. ![]() Think of it like wearing knee pads while riding a bike. They add a bit of extra protection to your phone, but that additional protection isn’t always necessary. Screen protectors aren’t nearly as important as they used to be. Consider Carrier Insurance or Local Repair Shops Vlad Teodor/ ![]() But for most people, freak accidents are so rare that a screen replacement may be cheaper, easier, and more tolerable than installing a new screen protector every month. And hey, if you work in a battlefield or you have terrible luck, then a screen protector’s probably worth buying. Sure, it’s nice to have a screen protector when something terrible happens. When’s the last time that either of those things happened to you? Freak accidents just don’t happen that often. #Gorilla glass full#Your phone will look like hell if it ever skids across a gravel parking lot, and it’ll be covered in micro-scratches if you ever stick it in a pocket full of sand. Plus, the plastic screen protectors are really good at holding onto finger grease, which is a gross reminder of humanity’s myriad bodily functions.īut screen protectors aren’t useless yet. Gorilla Glass may be strong enough to withstand a good drop, but it can still be scratched by rocks, sand, and rare metals (like diamonds). They get scratched up quickly, and they make your screen less vibrant. But Gorilla Glass isn’t perfect, right? Aren’t there some situations that call for a screen protector? Screen Protectors Are (Sometimes) Useful Vera Petrunina/ Screen protectors used to be an essential item, but they’re hardly a necessity these days. In other words, your phone’s screen is a lot harder to break than it used to be. ![]() |
